Our Adoption(s)

Here's the facts:

Where: Ethiopia and the foster system

Why concurrent adoptions? Because as the wait as gotten longer we did not want a single moment that we could be building our family through adoption to be wasted. While we wait for our Ethiopian referral we are doing MORE paperwork, another homestudy, MORE training, and getting licensed as foster parents. We are unsure if the timing will work out that we can take placements before traveling to Ethiopia, but we're waiting and watching for what God's plan will be!

Who: Children younger than Z. We want Z to keep his spot as oldest child, so as we wait and he gets older, our age range will go up as well! We're open to either gender and a modest amount of special needs.

Is it going to cost a lot? God has blessed us so much and while, yes, it does cost a lot He has provided the funds for 2/3rds of the adoption already through a large anonymous grant! We still have to pay for our second trip to Ethiopia, but we're sure he'll provide that as well!

When will you bring these children home? A child from Ethiopia likely will not be home until summer of 2013 but my hope is that is very much on the long end of the estimate and that it will happen much sooner. We just never know! As far as the foster care system, we could potentially receive a call as soon as we are licensed which we hope to be 2-3 more months from now!
